Professional Standards Committee
The Professional Standards Committee is responsible for the hearing process when an Ethics complaint or Arbitration request has been filed and found to have proper standing by the Grievance Committee. When a hearing is warranted, the members of the Professional Standards Committee are assigned to a hearing panel. It is their responsibility to review the facts of the case and in the case of an Ethics hearing determine whether or not the actions of a member violated his or her obligations under the Code of Ethics. In an Arbitration hearing, it is the role of the assigned hearing panel to resolve financial disputes arising between members involved in a real estate transaction. In both cases, the hearing panel reviews evidence and hears testimony from the parties and witnesses.
